VENUE

The workshop will be held 23-24 September 2019 at Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

RATIONALE

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) deliver information on the richness of the chemical inventory in space including pre-biotic molecular species. Additionally, PAH spectral signatures provide a probe of the local physical conditions in the Interstellar Medium. In the next few years, multi-billion dollar observatories, James Webb Space Telescope, METIS@ELT are to deliver new data of unprecedented quality. The meeting will serve as a platform to bring together experts in astronomical observations, laboratory astrophysics, theoretical modelling and discuss the current status and future of the PAH research.

The goal of the meeting is to discuss both the recent scientific developments and the future of the study of PAHs in the interstellar medium, with a special focus on the work being done by young and early career researchers.

CONFIRMED INVITED SPEAKERS

  • Prof. Dr. Bernhard Brandl (Leiden University)
  • Dr. Ewen Campbell (University of Edinburgh)
  • Dr. Alessandra Candian (Leiden University)

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

The meeting will consist of invited and contributed talks, and posters. Abstract submissions can be made now for both posters and talks. Our aim is to give preference to early career researchers. The deadline for submission is 31st August for both.

REGISTRATION FEE

The registration fee for the workshop is €200 for EUROPAH members, and €50 for all other participants. This will include coffee, lunches and a borrel during the poster session. Registration will close on 30th August. Please note that the workshop participation is restricted to 40 persons, based on first-signed first-selected, so do not delay your registration!
